Video 1: Salt and Blood

This is a short movie by our dear friend Pankaj Trivedi from www.hornokplz.tv about the salt farmers in the Little Rann of Kutch (Gujarat), which Kalyan visited as part of our journey. It’s a heartbreaking story, their working and living conditions are nothing but pathetic. Despite all else we’ve seen, this is one story that moves me to bits every time I’m thinking of it.

We’re currently exploring ideas and partnerships to see if we can cut out some of these middle men who cause the difference between the earnings of the salt farmer and the price we pay for the salt we eat. Video 2: Income Generation at ProtoVillage, Part I
